GAME PLAY SCENARIOS
Beach Head
Drop Zone
Crucible
Beach Head simulates a group of soldiers advancing onto an enemy beach head. Two end goals are set up side by side at one end of the field. Each team is assigned a lane, which is half the field, left side and right side. Both teams start at the opposite end of the field from the goals. Caches of football are staged randomly along each team’s lane as “ammo points.”. Each team will advance down the field, moving from cache to cache. Teams must expend all balls at a given cache before they can move to the next. Footballs can be shot from a cannon, thrown or kicked into the goals. Teams are awarded 2 points for each football delivered via air cannon, and 3 points for any balls which are thrown by hand or kicked. Beach Head is not about speed, the focus is accuracy - getting footballs on target. Beach Head is played outside on a surface similar to AstroTurf. Teams must stay in their lane during play. Also players must move together as a team. Any balls which drop outside the AstroTurf are out of play.
In Drop Zone, players are “inserted” into a simulated hostile area. Players must first locate their kit (air cannons, helmets, air tanks and vests) which are cached in large wooden ammo boxes. After locating their gear, players must move to designated way points on a map. At each way point players find “ammo” for football shots on goals. Teams may also locate extra air tanks at cache points. The team with the best time AND most football goals wins. Drop Zone is played in a wooded area. In Drop Zone, players must move together as a team. Time officially stops once players reach the CyborgFL battle axe.
Crucible is CyborgFL’s take on SpeedBall. The field of play is organized similar to Beach Head on AstroTurf; however, the stategy for Crucible is to fill up OPFOR’s goal with footballs. Each team must score at least 2 goals at each cache point prior to advancing to the next cache. If a team does not score twice at a given cache, they must retreat back to the main supply point to reload and reattempt. Crucible is a timed event. The team with the least amount of balls in goal wins. Any balls which drop outside the AstroTurf are out of play. Own goals are possible in Crucible!
Safety
Footballs are not shot or thrown at other players. Each player wears a G4 tactical helmet, which includes poly-carbonate lenses. Air cannon pressure (PSI) will be fixed during game play and cannot be altered without League guidance. Also each player must be 18 years or older and sign a waiver IOT play. CyborgFL is no tackle, no contact. The focus of this game is putting footballs down range!
