Cyborg Football

Capture the... Battle Axes

We’re not playing capture the flag here. CyborgFL teams will play to capture the Cybrog Football Battle Axe of the OPFOR (Opposing Force, that’s the opposing team). We’re looking for an American company to produce 2x large custom, double-headed battle axes and separately small batch battles axes (same exact design) via aluminum sand casting or other metal.

First Requirement: We’re looking for an Artisan Foundry to produce 2x large battle axes. The head of this double axe needs to be large, perhaps 18 inches wide, 10 inches high, and 2 inches deep. We'd like to have the CyborgFL logo imprinted/raised in the center of the blade. Based on the large size of these blades, we will likely have the blade of this axe cast in metal and incorporate with a wooden handle.

Second Requirement: We'd like to produce about 25 smaller versions of the same battle axe. These smaller axes will be handed out to all the players of our first game in spring 2021. Including a handle, this axe could be sized around 24" high and the handle would be part of the cast. So the blade on this axe could be circa 8" wide, 5" high, and 1" deep. Again sand cast aluminum would be optimal, but we're also open to options such as CNC milling or other ideas.

If your company is interested in the above project, please email ceo@cyborgfootball.com.

What Is Cyborg Football?

Introduction

CyborgFL is a new concept which combines mankind with machines in a physical, on-the-field game. We’re building customized air cannons (offense and attack, I mean defense) and custom footballs for both O and D. We’re developing a complex game that includes use of drones and unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) for game play. At its core Cyborg Football includes two goals and two command posts. Players are organized into squads.

Concept Creation

Professional football (NFL, college football, etc.) is great, but in 2018 I was watching an NFL game and, I’m sad to say, I got bored. What’s new with pro football? Why is new technology only minimally reflected in professional football games? I can likely answer my own question with the observation that pro football is an American tradition. We shouldn’t change the old pig skin. Roger that, got it. In response to this realization, I started putting thoughts on paper. If I could create a new game, what kind of concepts would I like to see? What types of technology would make the game more interesting not only to watch, but to play.

Technology

The Cyborg Football concept seeks to incorporate modern technology wherever applicable in order to enhance the game. As technology advances, Cyborg Football itself will adapt and modify year over year as we build in new tech. We’re not tied to tradition, we keep it fresh.

Military Angle

I’m a vet. I served 8 years active duty in the Air Force. I also served extensively in Iraq and Afghanistan for Uncle Sam. For many reasons, I wanted to create a game which included wounded warriors. Our game can be played by anyone, but we especially want to have this game, this entire platform, available to our vets.

What We Are Not

We are not a t-shirt company. Sure we sell merchandise like any other company, but that’s not our focus. We are also not a bunch of cyborgs running around a field. Also there are no aliens here, no zombies either.
